How to have an Absence override Hours Worked on the Timecard?
Summary:
We are currently implementing Absence Management and Time and Labor. A large set of our non-exempt employee population uses a 3rd party scheduling tool which we are going to feed on a biweekly basis directly to the timecard. Therefore, we had to turn off the check between absence and schedules because the Oracle HCM schedule will not be accurate for that population. As a result, an employee can request an absence for any day (even a non-work day).
When an employee requests leave in Absence, it flows to the timecard; however, it does not overwrite the hours worked for that day from the Oracle HCM schedule. Therefore, an employee has to go to the timecard and delete the hours worked for each day of their absence. This takes away from the efficiency of the integration between the two modules. It could also result in overpayment to the employee if they fail to delete the work hours.
