Reordering af:gridRow cells

JDev 12.2.1.4

How can you change the order of af:gridCells in an af:gridRow before a page fragment loads.
I'm able to swap the cells around with a button click and a partial refresh of the row updates the screen but I don't know how to do it just before the page fragment displays the screen so the user is presented with the re-ordered grid row.
